PLOTTR currently support 3 chart types: Line, Bar and Radar charts. A future update will bring support for 3 additional types: Polar area, Pie and Doughnut charts.
For more information on chart customization options please refer to the customization section of this manual.
Line graphs are probably the most widely used graph for showing trends.
PLOTTR has a ton of customization features for line graphs, with support for multiple datasets to be plotted on one chart coming soon.
Bar graphs are also great at showing trend data.
PLOTTR supports bar charts with a load of custom styles and the ability to show multiple bars for each x value is coming soon.
Radar charts are good for comparing a selection of different pieces of data.
PLOTTR supports all of the customisation options you’d expect. Support for multiple data sets plotted on the same radar chart is coming soon.
Pie charts are great at comparing proportions within a single data set.
PLOTTR creates pie charts with customisable colours and strokes
Polar area charts
Polar area charts are similar to pie charts, but the variable isn’t the circumference of the segment, but the radius of it.
PLOTTR delivers polar area charts with custom coloured segments, along with customisable scales and animation.
Similar to pie charts, doughnut charts are great for showing proportional data.
PLOTTR offers the same customization options as for pie charts, but with a custom sized inner cutout to turn your pies into doughnuts.
In the “Data” tab you can add data to your charts.
First select your desired chart type.
Then add some data, labels for the x-axis and corresponding y-values.
To add a new label-value pair simply click the “Add another data field”-button, to remove an existing row, click the remove-button next to the row you want to remove.
To view your chart simply switch to the “Chart” tab
As long as you hold your device in portrait mode you will get a tall version of your chart.
In landscape mode you’ll get a wide chart that spans the entire screen.
You can export your chart in these tall and wide formats, but also in a square version, see “Exporting/sharing images (as PNG)” for more details.
Customizing your chart’s appearance
To change the appearance of your chart, open the menu and select “Chart settings”.
You’ll be presented with a range of options depending in the chart type you selected, here you can customize the scale, the labels and the overall look of your chart:
Exporting/sharing chart data (as CSV)
PLOTTR allows you to export and share the data in your charts in a Character-Separated Values (CSV) format.
To export or share chart data just open the menu and select “Export” or “Share”.
Then choose the CSV option.
There are a couple of options for CSV exports:
You can choose to include a header row and choose the delimiter character.
(A comma is generally accepted as the standard and therefore recommended)
Exporting/sharing chart images (as PNG)
PLOTTR allows you to export and share PNG images of your charts.
To export or share a chart just open the menu and select “Export” or “Share”.
You can choose between square and wide (16:9) images in low (360 pixels high) or high (720 pixels high) quality.
